Passing of time: tea light in glass holder

Documenting time
This week, we were tasked with depicting a subject that changes over time.
I wanted to attempt to depict light and reflections with only the simple tools allowed, so I chose to draw a candle.

The tea light had a lifespan of 4 hours when lit, so to depict the change over time quickly, I employed a rapid sketching approach. Each sketch was done 1 hour apart, and this method allowed me to produce each image in time for the next one.
Tools used: pen, sketchbook paper
Reflection: I could have paid more attention to the text added to the image. Perhaps a cursive writing style would have fit the sketch better.
Using only a pen to outline the reflections created an interesting style that I think communicates the subject effectively. Using a pencil or a technique such as crosshatching to create variance in light/dark, I could have filled in the shadows more accurately to create a more realistic look.
Overall I am happy with the sketches and the approach I took to the challenge though.
